The tram was set in provider in 1992 on normal gauge track with modern cars and trucks, connecting Sirkeci with Topkapi. The road was extended on a person finish from Topkapi to Zeytinburnu in March 1994 and, on one other conclusion from Sirkeci to Eminönü in April 1996.
